What types of food businesses does BEACON Kitchen support?

Our kitchen is equipped to support consumer packaged goods, mobile food units (trucks, trailers, and carts), and caterers. 

*We are unable to host manufacturing for consumables that contain THC or psilocybin.

Conveyor oven, convection ovens, proofer, gas ranges, stock pot range, charbroiler, flat-top grill, fryer, tilt-kettle, tilt-skillet, stand mixer, slicer, Robot-Coupe, food processors, emulsion blenders, blenders, ice machine, blast chiller, walk-in refrigeration, walk-in freezer, reach-in refrigeration, reach-in freezers, high-temp conveyor dishwasher.
Similar to signing up for a gym membership, each business pays a designated membership fee at the beginning of the month in anticipation of that month’s usage. It’s common for businesses to adjust their membership level depending on the time of year. When you start a membership with us, you’ll have access to use the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We require $1 Million Proof of Liability Insurance with additional named insureds, a Food Handler Certificate (e.g. ServSafe), a Commissary Permit, a signed Kitchen Member Agreement and a Charlottesville Health Department Food Plan Review (if serving the public). We have the means to assist each potential member with sourcing all the requirements prior to joining.

Booking our kitchen is quick and easy, thanks to Food Corridor, a platform that manages our bookings, document management, invoicing, and payment systems.

Each business has an individual PIN (Personal Identification Number) that can be used to gain access to our facility and each individual kitchen.

Businesses can level up their kitchen membership and opt into receiving additional support rewarding them with 3 credits per month to receive services from our in-house experts. You may not need to utilize these services every month, so we encourage businesses to stack their credits and use them when needed.
